Our Mission

Love.  Serve.  Welcome.

— Grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ by the gift of faith.

— Gathered in love and caring.

— Sent out with a mission so others might

know God’s grace, love, & forgiveness.

What does this mean?

That we share in the belief that forgiveness and life are found in our faith in Jesus Christ.  The good news Jesus gives assures us that it’s not about the good things we do or the bad things we do, but it’s about the great thing that Jesus did for us on the cross.

We don’t always agree with one another, but we are committed to love and care for one another as children of God.  Whatever our histories, experiences, race, age, gender, or orientation, we are brothers and sisters in Christ.

We see our mission as taking place outside of the church building.  Our communities, our workplaces, our world is our mission field.  We seek to live out our faith in word and deed, knowing that we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this place, sharing God’s goodness and grace with all people.

At Zion United Lutheran Church we strive to provide a sanctuary for prayerful worship within a respectful and welcoming environment and to meet the spiritual needs of our congregation and community, using Christian ideas and values.
